Disputing a rabbi on relationships
May 15, 2008 by qafirarnaut
Granted I dont have the requisite Talmudic knowledge to wrestle with a rabbi, but this one got so close and just blew it in the end. There’s a simple maxim I’ve come up that in theory should explain the key to sticking it out with the same person for decades:
A man wants to be needed
A woman needs to be wanted
I congratulate rabbi Shmuley, and all the jewish rabbis in general, for carrying forth the great humanistic knowledge contained in their tradition. But the male female equation cannot and will not be balanced by granting women goodhood in the sense that males should acquiesce to their desire to feel like ‘the life giving sun, sovereign over its satellite planetary system’.
Jews should know better where this kind of thinking would lead them. All they have to do is read their creation story.
how are you going to stick it out with the same person when you don’t WANT any woman??
That’s a great observation. I will either not stick it out with the same person, or there will be no ’same person’
